About Me

Hello! My name is Emma Yoder and I have been a doula for nearly 5 years.

It is my complete honor to have worked with hundreds of families during their

pregnancies, births, and postpartum. Some people are lucky enough to

have a calling in life, and working with families during such an important time in

their lives is undoubtedly the fire that lights my soul.  When I started this company

in early 2018, I did not even imagine how rewarding it was going to be--

and I have all my clients to thank!

My fascination with labor, birth, and postpartum began a bit differently from most of my colleagues. Growing up on an organic farm in Kutztown, PA, my first introduction to birth was as a child spending late nights in the barn aiding the birth of our horses, goats, and cows. I was absolutely enthralled! As I grew up, my interest only grew, leading me to the birthing section of my local bookstore, and long hours reading about labor, birth, and newborns. This was my calling!

In 2017, I had the opportunity to be mentored by a local midwife working with the Amish community in Lancaster, PA, where she first introduced me to what a doula was, and how important doulas are to every family they work with. It was then that I completed my DONA International training, certified, and launched this company.

Throughout the years I have attended hundreds of births, worked with hundreds of families during the postpartum period, and continue to learn everyday! I am grateful for my knowledge and it brings me immense joy to share even the smallest tips with new families.

While being a doula is the most rewarding gift, my ultimate path is becoming an OB/GYN in the coming years as I continue along my own journey of becoming a medical doctor.

Outside of doula work, I am a biologist with a bachelor's degree in Biology from Bryn Mawr College, a yoga instructor, an avid explorer and traveler, and a social butterfly. I am grateful to share my life with my partner, Carolyn, and all of our whimsical adventures that often include good food and sunshine.

I look forward to meeting you!

I am a participating member under PALS (Philadelphia Alliance of Labor Support), a nonprofit that functions to

offer doula services to families on a volunteer and sliding-scale basis.

I also work extensively with different doula collaboratives in Philadelphia and surrounding areas, including but not limited to Happy Family After LLC, Your Baby Doulas LLC, and Your Birth Doulas LLC.

I am also an advocate for Poppyseed Health, an online platform that provides 24/7 doula support and education over chat within the areas of pregnancy, labor/birth, postpartum, miscarriage and loss, and beyond.

Sending love and light!
